John FORTESCUE of Buckland Filleigh⁽²⁵⁴⁾ died on 1 Apr 1604 in Wear Gifford.⁽²⁵⁵⁾ John of Buckland-Filleigh's second wife Susannah was a daughter of Sir John Chichester of Raleigh, near Barnstaple, and a sister of Sir Arthur Chichester, afterwards Lord Chichester of Belfast, Lord Deputy of Ireland.

He was married to Anne PORTER of Thetford, Norfolk (daughter of Walter PORTER of Thetford). John FORTESCUE of Buckland Filleigh and Anne PORTER of Thetford, Norfolk had the following children:

He was married to Susannah CHICHESTER of Raleigh (daughter of Sir John CHICHESTER of Yolston) on 22 Sep 1584 in Heaton Punchardon. ⁽²⁵⁶⁾ John FORTESCUE of Buckland Filleigh and Susannah CHICHESTER of Raleigh had the following children:
