443. Rebecca FORTESCUE of Spridlestone ⁽⁵²⁴⁾.

She was married to George FORTESCUE of Tavistock (son of William FORTESCUE of Buckland-Filleigh and Emlyn TROSSE) on 15 May 1697 in Plympton St Mary. George FORTESCUE of Tavistock⁽⁵²⁵⁾ was born in 1668. He died in 1700. George was the second surviving son of William of Buckland-Filleigh. He married Rebecca, fifth (?) daughter and eventually heiress of Edmond (Edward ?) of Spridlestone, and was father to John of Bampton, who inherited the family estates from Mary. John died unmarried in 1776, and the estates went to the son of his sister Rebecca who, through her mother, had also succeeded to Spridlestone. Her son was Richard Inglett, born in 1731. Rebecca FORTESCUE of Spridlestone and George FORTESCUE of Tavistock had the following children:

523 i. John FORTESCUE M.B. of Bampton⁽⁵²⁶⁾ was baptised on 14 Sep in Tavistock. He died in 1776. Only Son. John inherited Buckland-Filleigh in 1752, from his cousin Mary who was the daughter of the Rt. Hon. William Fortescue, Master of the Rolls. He also inherited Spridlestone from his mother (Rebecca). He had no issue, and both properties passed to his sister Rebecca.

525 iii. Elizabeth FORTESCUE⁽⁵²⁷⁾ was baptised on 31 Jul 1698 in Buckland Filleigh. She was buried on 23 Jan 1700/1 in Buckland Filleigh.
