800. James FORTESCUE of Longstowe ⁽⁶⁰⁰⁾ was born on 6 Nov 1798. He died on 11 Oct 1852 in Castlemaine, Victoria. Emigrated to Australia in 1852 with son George in "Statesman" 875 tons Master: Capt Godfrey who pioneered sailing the Great Circle Routes. Prospected for Gold at Forest Creek.

He was married to Mary Ann WEST on 6 Sep 1825 in Great Stukeley. Mary Ann WEST⁽⁶⁰⁰⁾ was born in 1803. She died on 19 May 1870 in Paddington, Middlesex. ⁽⁸⁴⁵⁾ James FORTESCUE of Longstowe and Mary Ann WEST had the following children:
