He was buried on 16 Nov 1915 in Wilby Church, Northhants. Lived at Little Irchester and Wilby, Northants. Gerrard also appears in the 1851 Census under Gt. Giddings seen in the Huntingdon Records office viz.

Gerrard ( spelt Garrard ) Fortescue unmarried aged 17, Farmers son, born Leighton, apprenticed to John Brawn Farmer. Although the spelling is not correct the place of his birth and his age makes it likely that it is Gerrard.

He was married to Mary PASHLER of Molesworth (daughter of William PASHLER and Charlotte) on 14 Nov 1863 in Molesworth, Hunts. From Name Index at Huntindon records Office.
