He was married to Ellen THORP (daughter of Thomas THORP and Ann HARTFORD) on 25 Sep 1852 in Woolley Church, Woolley, Hunts. ⁽⁹²⁴⁾ Ellen THORP ⁽⁹²³⁾ was born in 1829 in Knotting, Bedfordshire. John FORTESCUE of Woolley and Ellen THORP had the following children:
