549. John FORTESCUE of Penwarne, MP for Cornwall⁽⁶⁴¹⁾ was born in 1668. He was baptised on 2 Sep 1688 in Mevagissey. He died in 1741. No issue. Sheriff of Cornwall

He was married to Amy FORTESCUE (daughter of Sir Peter FORTESCUE of Wood and Lady Amy COURTNEY). Amy FORTESCUE⁽⁶⁴²⁾ was living in 1698. Amy inherited her father's estate since Sir Peter left his "real
estate in trust for such daughter who should marry a Fortescue". She
married John Fortescue of Penwarne but they had no issue. So the
families of Preston in the male line, and of Wood in both male and
female lines were extinguished.

He was married to Elizabeth KEAGLE on 10 Jun 1688.
